Thanks to effective PR, Cathy Burns from Rotary Leeds has received coverage on BBC Radio Leeds whilst raising awareness for the Joanna Project.

Cathy, founder of Leeds marketing business, Your Story, wants to raise cash and awareness for the Leeds-based Joanna Project, a home which offers refuge, advice and support for on street sex workers many of whom are addicts and  homeless.

“These women are shunned and derided by a society that takes advantage of them in the form of sexual abuse.  They have no homes, their children don’t have the carefree days out that most of us enjoyed and their health is at risk through addiction and the constant threat of physical abuse.

“The Joanna Project gives them the chance to leave behind the potentially violent workplace of the streets, have a shower, wash their clothes and grab some sleep.  They can also see their children, and bond with them.
